360 Requiem

The Xbox 360 has given me hours of enjoyment, but it also has given me heaps of problems, after about 15 months it started its death throes. The first time was while I was in the middle of hacking some sod in oblivion, and all of a sudden the screen freezes. Thinking to myself, no big deal, it’s Now I’m back getting my daily fix of 360 goodness again. This goes on for like 5 weeks with no glitches. And then boom! 3ROD again! I say to myself, no sweat, fixed it once will fix it again. So I go through the motions again, removing the heatsink, cleaning the thermal paste….etc It doesn’t boot up this time, still 3ROD. Hmmm..crap what to do now?

Scour the Net again. Now I try the heat gun method…a lil’ hot air here a lil’ hot air there…done. Power on, Whooohooo! This zombie is walking again. I’m happy as a clam now, but also more cautious of it overheating. So i use the 12v fan hack..make’s the default fans spin at 12v, thus allowing more hot air to be sucked out.

Another 4 weeks of gaming sweetness..and then the box craps out on me again with the 3ROD. This time, I think…I know, it’s gone to console limbo. It’s not dead as a door nail yet. But I don’t think I’d want to go through the time and trouble of possibly getting it running and then 3RODding again. Now its bricked.

Will I get another one? Try stopping me.

On the Horizon

It has one of the finest games libraries, but the Xbox 360 is just lacking in the quality department, not as robust as it’s competitors. If only MS will just get started on building a better version.I still believe the games that are developed for this console are out of this world.
